Servant leadership is a much talked about dynamic in Christian circles. But why did Jesus make such a big deal about it with His disciples?

Charlie Whitlow, executive pastor of the thriving Community Church in Ashburn, Virginia, gave a sermon recently on the subject. I enjoyed it enough to ask him to share key parts of it with our Discourse audience. We had an enjoyable back-and-forth about how challenging it can be to exercise servant leadership and to even encourage it in the church sometimes.
