Our editor at The Point, Gina Dalfonzo, suggested that Jeffrey Overstreet would provide an intriguing interview for Discourse. As Gina is plugged into so many good blogs and websites across the internet, I figured she knew whom to recommend.
Jeffrey is not only a well-regarded film critic for Christianity Todaybut now a rather productive author of Christian fantasy fiction. His current series began with Auralia’s Colors, and a second in the same series has been released, Cyndere’s Midnight.
We caught up with Jeffrey to talk about his writing, the challenges of Christian fantasy writing, and about what some people say is a similarity between his work and J.R.R. Tolkien’s.
You can learn more about Jeffrey and his work by visiting his website.
“Discourse,” an occasional podcast on BreakPoint, applies a Christian worldview lens to a broad range of issues related to contemporary culture. Stephen Reed, a Centurion in the class of 2008, is a former talk radio host and serves as grants and foundations specialist for PFM. If you see any cultural issues out there you would like to see us address in a future podcast, e-mail Stephen at: stephen_reed@pfm.org.
