Couldn't we make up our minds whether we want to be imperialists or not though? If we want to do this sort of thing regularly we might do some good. And if we Switzerlandize ourselves we might. But if we are going to do this sort of thing, we should kind of man-up, and be willing to accept the consequences without whining, understand that we will take casualties and inflict them, and not make Obamanian apologies over it. The fact that the LRA are savages needing a sound trouncing does not necessarily lead to the understanding that we should be the ones doing so. If however we are to do so it is criminal negligence to refrain from doing the trouncing in an effective manner for the sake of fastidiousness.
