If you have not yet seen the video of Eric Metaxas speaking at this year’s National Prayer Breakfast, you need to and I’ve linked to it at thePointRadio.org. In Eric’s trademark way, he had the audience -- including the President of the United States and the first lady -- laughing hysterically while making very important points about the difference between true religious belief and what he called “phony religiosity.”

The contribution of true Christian faith to the world has been huge. As Eric said in the speech, “Today we argue about how to help the poor, not whether to help the poor. The idea to care for the poor, and the idea that slavery is wrong are not normal human ideas. They were biblical ideas that were brought to the world.”

Think about it. The idea that every person is valuable and made in the image of God drastically bettered society, and, as Eric mentioned, true faith requires nothing less of us today. Come to thePointRadio.org, to see a video of Eric’s speech. I’m John Stonestreet.
