Here’s how to flabbergast an atheist. From the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with the Point.
I’ve resisted commenting on the new ABC series GCB because, frankly, I didn’t want to dignify it with a comment. If you don’t know what GCB stands for, suffice it to say that the show is based on a book written about big-haired, big-mouthed, wealthy Christian mean ladies from Texas.
Well, Patrick Greene says another book may now be in the works “The Real Christians of Henderson County Texas.” Greene is an atheist, who threatened to sue the county over the annual courthouse manger scene. But when Jessica Crye found out Greene lost his job as a cab driver due to an expensive medical conditioned, she appealed to her church to help.
And they did. They helped pay his rent, buy his groceries, and the money is still coming in. Greene is so moved by the generosity, he’s decided not to sue about the nativity scene. Instead, he’s going to buy a star for the top of it. If these Texas Christians keep this up, they are going to prove GCB has it all wrong.
