Nature’s design is that 105 boys are born for every 100 girls, but this ratio has gone desperately out of balance since the 1970’s according to Laura Hvistendahl, author of Unnatural Selection: Choosing Boys Over Girls and the Consequences of a World Full of Men.

What sparked this? Technologies that reveal the sex of babies in utero has led to extreme sex selection by abortion in many countries. In India, the ratio is 112 boys for every 100 girls, in Georgia its 118, 120 in Armenia and a whopping 121 boys for every 100 girls in China, with some towns topping 150!

Add it up, and 163 million women have been selectively killed. Technology intended to provide care for the unborn is now used to eliminate them. “Freedom of choice” is now freedom to choose what we have not just if we have.  The result? A world with too many undomesticated men: meaning more human trafficking.
