Does another point of view give you indigestion?

The American Atheists have filed a lawsuit asking that two beams resembling a cross found in the rubble of Ground Zero should be taken out of a tax-payer funded museum, even though they became a meaningful symbol of hope for many after 9-11.

Precedent from past cases requires that plaintiffs show injury beyond merely being offended. The injuries claimed by the American Atheist include “dyspepsia, symptoms of depression, anxiety, and mental pain and anguish.” In case you didn’t know dyspepsia is indigestion. Really?  This cross gave these guys indigestion?

This is embarrassing. As Mike Adams wrote on Townhall.com, “I don’t get gas or emotional when exposed to other points of view because I’m a grown man.” The worst thing about public religious discourse today is it never happens. It’s reduced to name-calling and lawsuits with silly claims of injury.

Let’s not stoop to this. These conversation are too important. As Christians, we should be ready since we know how high the stakes are..
