Listen Now | DownloadChristianity is a revealed religion that’s based on the idea that God has spoken to His people. Christians are to be people of the Book, the Bible, and there’s strong evidence for the Old and New Testaments are true as opposed to other “revelations” like the Book of Mormon or the Koran. But, it’s not always clear what it means to be biblical. I recently helped write a set of talking points from a Biblical worldview on the Occupy Wall Street movement. One reader responded that we were wrong for not including any Bible references. We need to base our views on Scripture, he said. I agree, but I’ve seen Bible references on signs carried by those who support Occupy Wall Street and those who oppose it. I’ve heard verses quoted by those who endorse same-sex marriage and those who don’t. Harold Camping, the Nazis, and the KKK all misquoted Bible verses.
