This weekend is the 2012 Wilberforce Weekend in Lansdowne, VA. The speaking lineup is as good as it gets for those interested in defending life, promoting marriage, and preserving religious liberty. But I’m worried. I’m worried because it’s easier to read a book, or hear a wonderful sermon or speech, or attend a motivating conference than to actually do something. In fact, attending a conference like this often gives the illusion that by staying informed, we’ve actually acted on what we know.
Now, being informed is important -- especially when there is so much ignorance of these issues. But, we also must act for -- as Edmund Burke said, “All that is required for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
If you can’t attend the weekend, you can get a taste of it by listening to BreakPoint this Week on radio or at breakpoint.org this weekend. And, we’ll tell you about the Breaking the Sprial of Silence campaign, the doing part, which will activate on April 28. Come to thePointRadio.org to learn more. I’m John Stonestreet.
