A Polite Request By: John Stonestreet|Published: July 12, 2012 12:00 AM Topics: Sexual Ethics Maybe we should just ask nicely...For the Chuck Colson for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point. Listen Now | Download"Pornography is degrading, dehumanizing, and corrupting. It undermines self-respect and respect for others. It reduces persons — creatures bearing profound, inherent, and equal dignity — to the status of objects. It robs...our sexuality — of its dignity and beauty. It ensnares some in addiction. It deprives others of their sense of self-worth. It teaches our young people to settle for the cheap satisfactions of lust, rather than to do the hard, yet ultimately liberatign and fulfilling, work of love." Those words were delivered this week to hotel executives in a letter written by unlikely allies: Professor Robert George, a Christian, and Professor Shayk Yusuf, a Muslim. They urge hotels to stop offering porn like Omni and Mariott did. This letter summarizes the high social and personal cost of porn. And today, I begin a series on the Two Minute Warning about the big problem of sexual brokenness. Find it at ColsonCenter.org. For the Point, I’m John Stonestreet. For ThePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
