Are two parents outdated? For the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.
We’ve talked here before about parents who won’t acknowledge their child’s gender, doctors performing sex change therapy on four-year-olds, and men fighting to use women’s restrooms. As Chuck Colson would say, “you can’t make this stuff up.”
But it keeps getting crazier. Last month, California Senator Mark Leno proposed a law which would allow children to have more than two legal parents. “This bill brings California in to the 21st century,” he said, and cited lesbian couples who want to share parenthood with a sperm donor, and married couples who want a previous boyfriend for a second father, as examples. “I just think that people should be able to create their own lives,” said one gay activist in response to the bill’s Senate passage.
“Create their own lives?” This is more like “create their own realities.”
The two-parent family isn’t a mere social construct. It’s a part of created design which doesn’t change even if we deny it.
For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
