Yesterday, I told you about Judge John Kane’s encouraging decision to award an injunction that halts the enforcement of the Health and Human Services mandate while it is being challenged in court. Hercules Industries of Colorado will not have to violate the owner’s Catholic convictions and provide abortion-inducing drugs to their employers for now. This is a small win in what is an epic battle over our national understanding of religious freedom.

In fact, the arguments offered by the Department of Justice against the injunction show what is at stake. They argued that businesses are secular, and that not fully subsidizing contraception and abortion drugs is the same as imposing personal religious beliefs on employees. Essentially, they argued that, “contrary to the U.S. Constitution, people of faith forfeit their religious liberty once they engage in business.” Come to thePointRadio.org, where I will link you the Alliance Defending Freedom’s summary. I’m John Stonestreet.
