After this election season, pro-life politicians should expect that questions about abortion are set-ups and your answers will be twisted. So, I humbly suggest that you avoid the intricacies of science and theology in sound bites. When asked about abortion in cases of rape and incest say this: “God loves all human beings, including those unborn. We should protect them regardless of how they were conceived.”

See, the problem isn't mentioning God. Without God there’s no substantial ground from which to claim rape is always wrong anyway. Christian novelist Dostoevsky and atheist Frederick Nietzsche agreed “without God anything was permissible.” 20th-century thinker Michel Foucault agreed and applied it to rape and criminal acts in ways that were repugnant. And sex researcher Alfred Kinsey assumed atheism in his research for which we still pay a huge social price today. So don’t get rid of the God talk, just keep it simple. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
