Tufts University’s student government has voted to cut funding and official recognition to a chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship because the Christian student group wants its leaders to exhibit Christian beliefs.

Ironically, Tufts prides itself on preparing students for global leadership, claiming to trains students how to “think, communicate and act successfully across cultural boundaries.” But, Christianity continues to explode in other cultures and countries around the world, so this is odd preparation for leadership from a place that’s supposed to support critical thinking skills and the free flow of ideas.

This is beginning to seem like the new normal. More and more universities are discriminating against Christian organizations and even editing out references to Christian students under the guise of tolerance.

The group at Tufts still has an appeal with university administrators. Let’s hope they realize the irony and correct the mistake. For ThePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
