School officials in San Francisco have learned of the existence of a new fantasy sports league. Male athletes “draft” girl students and earn points for having sex with them.

Surprisingly, school authorities don’t plan to discipline the students they know participated. “Our focus really isn’t pinpointing the who or the details,” one official said. “Our focus is really about having this continued conversations with kids, getting them to feel comfortable, getting them to learn why this is disrespectful, inappropriate.”

Of course, they’d likely find it difficult to condemn this behavior in light of the typical things taught about sex in school and on television. When students hear there is no right or wrong about sex, and that it’s just a matter of personal pleasure and “when you’re ready,” it shouldn’t surprise us when they act accordingly. Unfortunately, it takes disturbing stories like this one to realize that these ideas have victims. For, I’m John Stonestreet.
