Christianity as a Worldview
Chuck reminds us, in this archive commentary launching The Colson Center, of the broad scope of the Christian's call to discipleship.Today I want to tell you about a major new effort to renew the Church and transform the culture.
What is the vision of the Church? That was the sermon topic one Sunday a dozen years ago or so when I visited a friend’s church. But as I listened, I found my mind wandering. I had just signed a contract to write a book on Christian worldview, and I was experiencing writer’s remorse. Did this book really need to be written?

Blunting the Gospel's Sharp Edge
Christians are called not to embrace the culture, but to scandalize it.
A Romanian pastor once told me, "You Christians in the West are not as fortunate as we are." I was startled. What could he mean? At the time of our conversation, the Romanian church was suffering under Communist persecution, while the Western church was enjoying its tradition of religious liberty.

Restoring the "Cult" in Culture
Chuck’s 1996 call for more Christian engagement with culture is still relevant today.
The sun shone brightly at the Indiana State Penitentiary. But as prisoners gathered for a Prison Fellowship program, I felt a cold chill. Become a Centurion
As the Centurion program continues to grow, Chuck’s challenge is as fresh as ever.
It’s time to consider a challenge: Can you impact the culture for Christ right where you live?
Just before the outbreak of World War II, Oxford don C.S. Lewis wrote, “Good philosophy must exist, if for no other reason because bad philosophy needs to be answered.” Lewis’s students had questioned the importance of studying the humanities and sciences with war on the horizon.

Which Way Are the Winds Blowing?
It will seem like not much has changed in the two years since Chuck aired this BreakPoint commentary. The California case is now before the Court, and the economy continues to sputter. There is fodder here for prayer and action.
Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet? I’ll give you some food for thought, next on BreakPoint.
Pundits love to make New Year’s predictions about politics, the economy, sports, and so on. As for me, I’ll take a pass on making any predictions, because only the Lord knows what’s in store.
