The old adage of being careful for what you wish for is appropriate the issue of Title IX and women's sports.
In
"Take Back the Sports Page?," Christina Hoff Sommers points out that despite forcing institutions to grant women equal money for sports, radical feminists activists haven't achieved their goal in the promotion of women's sports and equal media coverage. She points out that even what should have been natural media outlets for coverage on women's sports like
Oprah or magazines such as
Cosmopolitan hasn't panned out.
Now I'm all for women playing sports and generating audience interest and money through talent and
hard work, but demanding entitlement is the worst idea radical feminists could have done for competition and furthering women's sports.
Their radicalism has started a backlash. Because of the injustice of Title IX, men have started a resistance movement.

I'm not sure what resistance men are putting up. Cal just cut some men's sports. And things will get worse as women further outnumber men on campus.
