There are many issues facing teens today that other generations never had to deal with. At the top of the list are bioethical dilemmas. At Youth Reads, bioethicist Jay Sappington has reviewed two novels by Mary E. Pearson, exploring bioethics and what it means to be human.

Comments:

Whether or not it is appropriate for teens, a parent can decide. It does have explicit scenes and allusions, though fewer then many modern works.

For an interesting example in this series of that kind of thing, try Mountains of Mourning.

Vorkosigan Saga often deals with bioethics, and is interesting for having a(perhaps unintended) pro-life message.
