Having read over 800 books the last thirty plus years, there is nothing like the printed page to stir the imagination and provoke the mind to think and wonder. And I still much prefer the written books to visual media, including Kindle. As the famous line of Shadowlands puts it, "We read to know that we're not alone."

I always knew books came alive at when we're not watching.
