Dump Daylight Saving!
Rating: 3.00

Not many of us are thrilled about this weekend's time change. Blogger Ryan Sager points out that there are some very good reasons for that. (Article contains mild profanity.) Thanks to Roberto for this one.

DST=dumn
It's amazing to me that this fiasco still persists. When I lived in AZ there were legislators trying to get the state to adopt time changes!

DST used to occur in April. April or Autumn, both are good times to be in DC! Count me in.
Fall in Wash., DC is wonderful
How about we converge early in Sept. to protest this thing... It's lovely weather--people can combine protest with sightseeing. Any takers?
Sure beat the daylights out of me
Try combining the loss of an hour of sleep with getting up at 3am to catch a West-to-East plane flight, which also provides jet lag. Almost couldn't get on the plane due to extra bags - under my eyes.

Oh, and Kim, great idea about marching on the Capitol - provided people didn't show up either an hour early or an hour late...
From a Sleepyhead
I concur--time change is obnoxious and messes with a person’s bio-rhythm. My daughter says the beloved grandchildren (four and one year old) asked if they could sleep an extra hour. What steps can we take to get this cruel and unusual practice rectified? I wonder if we can converge on the Capitol steps with posters in hand. (I bet if we set time and date we’d have more than 100,000 people in attendance.)
Not a well-thought-out article. The article actually argues FOR daylight savings time year-round.
