Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the first Socrates in the City event to take place in Washington, D.C. The featured speaker was Dr. Stephen Meyer of the
Discovery Institute, author of
Signature in the Cell: DNA and the Evidence for Intelligent Design. Eric Metaxas, founder of SITC and recent
National Prayer Breakfast speaker, was the comical emcee.
It's difficult for a layperson like me to sum up Dr. Meyer's talk, but in essence, he argued that, mathematically, evolution is impossible. At least, that's what I think he said.
You can buy CDs of Socrates in the City talks
here.
Or you can give yourself a treat and attend SITC in New York, as
Gina and I did last November when
Baroness Caroline Cox spoke about the conflict between Islam and democracy.
