Joni at the Wilberforce Award ceremony Topics: Inspiration, Religion & Society  2 Corinthians 12:9: "But he said to me, 'my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ my rest on me." This verse is epitomized by Joni Eareckson Tada, the recipient of the 2012 Wilberforce Award. An accident that rendered her a quadriplegic could have made her hopeless, but instead she's hope-filled. It could have made her angry and sullen, but she is joy-filled and an encourager of others. Her success could have made her proud and haughty, but she is gracious and humble. In her weakness and humbleness, God has powerfully used her to bring hope to people worldwide. She told the audience that her antidote for her all her problems, is her relationship with God and active prayer life. Many of you probably already know that Joni is a fabulous artist, but what you might not know is that she was a beautiful singing voice. At the end of her speech, Joni lead in led us in the last stanza of "It Is Well with My Soul." In the picture: On Joni's right is her beloved husband Ken Tada.
