The Fanaticism of the Apocalypse by philosopher Pascal Bruckner will be out this year. In it, Bruckner warns of a creeping totalitarian state being imposed on or embraced by Westerners because of the scare tactics used by the disciples who peddle climate-change-end-of-the-earth scenarios.

His enemies think Bruckner doesn't care about the environment. Au contraire, he replies: “I attack that degraded religion which emerges from it and turns into a culture of fear, hatred of progress and well-being."

I'm looking forward to reading the English version of Bruckner's book.
