Surely even many SSM advocates can see how ridiculous this case is. Of course, to acknowledge that would be to admit that maybe the brakes need to be applied just a little.

I'm tempted to say "It Takes a Village to Raise an Idiot", where the village in this case consists of the three "parents", and the idiot is the entire State of California, who will probably pay for the cost of caring for this child, and will probably pay again, in some way, when she becomes a thoroughly messed-up adult, unless the grace of God intervenes.

"SSM" is the acronym for same-sex marriage. "S&M" is the abbreviation for sadism and masochism. The irony of the similarity, and its appropriateness, should be obvious.
