Memorial Day 2020

The Cost of Love

Since “stay at home” has for months now meant “stuck at home,” the novelty of a Memorial Day-off work will be lost for many Americans. Maybe this is a particularly good year to reflect on what we are supposed to remember on Memorial Day: the sacrifice of so many.

Biblically speaking, sacrifice is the fullest expression of love… We know what love is, Scripture says, because God loved us and gave Himself for us.

Joni Eareckson Tada unlocks and describes the love of God in a talk that’s part of the Truth.Love.Together virtual event. “What,” she says, “could God the Father possibly prize so much that it would be worth sending His own dear Son to brutal torture? …your salvation and mine.”

Sacrificial love is always worthy of our memory. Hear Joni’s amazing talk about love, as well the rest of this week’s module about love at conference.colsoncenter.org.
