The Point: Commit to Pray

02/9/18

John Stonestreet

Keep prayer close to your heart. For the Colson Center, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.

Everywhere he went, Chuck Colson carried index cards in his left shirt pocket. On them were reminders of specific people for him to pray for. You could say that prayer was at the heart of Chuck’s worldview.

Scripture commands us to pray continually and on all occasions. It’s one very important way that we take part in God’s Story of creation, fall, redemption and restoration. And, as Paul would say, in the struggle against “the powers of this dark world.”

So like Chuck, whether you’re at home or on the road, when you rise and when you lie down, pray for family, friends, even enemies. Pray for the Church—especially the persecuted church; -for our leaders, and for our nation.

And why not join with the Colson Center in our special focus on prayer for life? Come to BreakPoint.org/21Days to download a free 21 Days of Prayer for life app. And for the next 365 days you will receive specific prayer requests for life.

Again, that’s BreakPoint.org/21Days.
