The Eagles for the win! For the Colson Center, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ scored an unlikely Super Bowl win over the favored New England Patriots.

But in addition to an incredible game, in which they outscored Tom Brady at his best, there are the other headlines about Philly’s champs that you don’t want to miss.

From the Washington Post: “In a tough sports town, baptisms and Bible studies fuel many of the Eagles’ stars.”

And from Salt Lake City’s Deseret News: “NFL players using Super Bowl spotlight as a platform to share their Christian faith.”

And then, this one from ESPN: “Members of the Eagles find common ground through spiritual devotion.”

From Thursday team Bible studies, to “scripture text chains,” to “late-night prayer sessions at the team hotel the night before each game,” to baptisms in the team’s swimming pool, to public proclamations of faith on television and twitter by coaches and quarterbacks, it was faith as much as football that kept this team together on its path to the championship.

And it’s great to see the sports world take notice.
