Recently, left-wing activist Shaun King tweeted: “The statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should come down. They are a form of white supremacy.”

Whether he meant that Jesus is a form of white supremacy or just the statues of Him are isn’t clear. But he is right that Jesus is not a white European.

He was a First-Century Middle Eastern Jew. And that’s no accident.

Paul says that God sent Jesus to just the right time and just the right place in history. So, knowing what Jesus looked like isn’t critical. Understanding the the time and place He entered human history is.

In their outstanding new book Seeing Jesus from the East: A Fresh Look at History’s Most Influential Figure, the late Ravi Zacharias and Abdu Murray help us enter that world.
