At the Colson Center National Conference, Pastor Shodankeh Johnson will be presented with the 2023 Wilberforce Award. One distinctive aspect of his ministry in Sierra Leone is prayer.  

When you look at the lifestyle of Jesus, He was just a praying man. He prayed so much. And because He prayed so much, His disciples asked Him—they said, “Master, teach us how to pray.” They did not say, “Teach us the seven principles of leadership.” They did not say, “Give us the 21 principles of prosperity.” They said, “Master, teach us how to pray.”  

Prayer is really the life, the oxygen that really keeps the Church going. And so, we have come to the place that when we coach disciples, when we raise disciples, one of the things we put in them is a DNA of prayer. 

The pastor is right. If the Son of God took time to pray, Christians should too…
