For 2,000 years, Christians have brought help and healing with the Gospel to plague-ravaged ancient cities, flooded bayous of Louisiana, and now, the Rio Grande Valley.

As Warren Smith cites in his latest “Restoring All Things” column at BreakPoint.org, “Southern Baptist entities—including the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention and the North American Mission Board—are actively engaged in addressing the migrant influx.”

Take Pastor Carlos Navarro, whose West Brownsville Baptist Church provides food, water and clothing to migrants in need. Warren writes, “Depending on the day, the church shelters anywhere from 35 to 100–a total of 1,500 people [all of whom have been cleared by immigration authorities] have passed through West Brownsville Baptist since April, with many of them accepting Christ. . . .”
