The Point: Uninvited Costars

Dad, there’s a job more important than your job. For the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.

It was the worst nightmare of every parent who works from home. Professor Robert Kelly, an expert on Korean politics, while on a live interview with the BBC had his interview crashed by his kids!

Kelly was explaining the impact of the impeachment of the South Korean President, when his small daughter came toddling in, immediately followed by her baby brother in a rolling walker, both trying to get daddy’s attention.

Kelly smiled and apologized until his wife came frantically sliding into the room with that “I just turned around for two seconds” look on her face, and then pulled the two kids out the door. Like my wife, she’s a superhero.

The Telegraph says there was an outpouring of understanding along with compliments on Kelly’s beautiful family.

And as a dad who’s been interrupted on countless teleconferences by my own daughters, I know how this moment feels. But I also know that as important as international politics is, Kelly has nothing to be embarrassed about. Not at all.
