What Would You Say If Someone Told You Jesus Didn’t Really Exist

You’re in a conversation, and someone says, “No one even knows if Jesus even existed.” This is the latest question answered in the “What Would You Say?” video series.

While no serious scholar doubts that Jesus of Nazareth actually walked the earth, skepticism about Jesus’ existence is still found and repeated on the internet.

Here’s what you need to know: First, several non-Christian sources, such as Jewish-Roman historian Flavius Josephus, sources that have no reason to make Him up, mention Jesus in their writings.  Second, the Apostle Paul, a persecutor of the early Church, was a contemporary of Jesus and writes about meeting with Jesus’ brother James, the leader of the Jerusalem church. If Jesus had a brother, Jesus existed.

And, third, most contemporary scholars, even skeptical ones, conclude that at least parts of the gospels, especially Mark and John, are eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ disciples.
